Sun Tunnels are sometimes named sun tubes or light pipes. A Sun Tunnel is a domed or flat, durable plastic or glass cap that acts as the sun collector mounted on top of a highly-reflective, polished pipe that will permit the natural sunlight to conduct and channel through the tube into a room. A dome covering will gather more light through refraction, whereas flat glass will have more reflection. This piping can be flexible or rigid, depending on the application. The rigid tubing has a better transmittance of sunlight than flex tubing.
A Sun Tunnel diameter is typically ten, fourteen, to twenty-two inches wide. The Sun Tunnel will be mounted and secured through a hole created through the roof and attic.
